Apollo Marine Isolating Base
Part Number: 45681-286MAR
The Apollo Marine Isolating Base is designed to detect and isolate short-circuit faults on XP95 and Discovery loops and spurs, ensuring reliable system operation and minimizing disruption.
Operation
Under normal conditions, a low impedance exists between the –IN and –OUT terminals of the base, allowing power and communication signals to pass to the next device in the loop. If a short-circuit or abnormally low impedance occurs, the resulting voltage drop is detected, and the base isolates the negative supply in the direction of the fault.
The isolated section is continuously monitored using a current pulse every five seconds. Once the short-circuit is cleared, normal power is automatically restored. To ensure that no device is lost during a single short-circuit fault, each detector can be mounted on an isolating base. In applications where it is not required to isolate every detector individually, up to 20 detectors—or their equivalent surge current—can be installed between isolating bases.
Key Features
- Supports up to 20 detectors or equivalent load between isolating bases
- High-brightness LED for clear status indication
- Detects wiring short-circuits to protect the loop
- Minimizes disruption caused by short-circuits
