The Universal Anti-Ligature Base is specifically designed to enhance occupant safety within secure environments. It is ideal for use in hospitals, prisons, mental health units, and other facilities that support vulnerable individuals.
Approved by the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) in England for in-cell detection, the base incorporates an anti-tamper lip to prevent contraband from being concealed between the detector and the base.
When designing or refurbishing secure facilities, it is critical to eliminate potential ligature points where cords, ropes, or bed sheets could be attached to fixtures, creating a risk of self-harm or, in extreme cases, fatal injury. Many standard fittings may unintentionally present such risks, requiring specially adapted products that maintain functionality while ensuring a safer environment. In addition, devices must not provide opportunities to conceal prohibited items such as drugs, blades, or other harmful objects.
To address these concerns, this base features an integrated anti-tamper lip to prevent concealment of contraband. It also includes a built-in magnetic switch that maintains loop continuity, even when multiple devices are removed. This ensures full loop integrity without the need for a separate T-Breaker, helping to reduce overall installation costs.
The unit is simple to install, certified to a 6.4kg release load, and can be easily reinstated if activated.
