The Opal NFXI-TFIX58 and NFXI-TFIX78 are analogue addressable fixed-temperature sensors that use low-mass thermistors and microprocessor technology to deliver fast response times and accurate, linear temperature measurement. Their linear sensing characteristics enable reliable temperature detection across a range from 58°C (Class A1S) to 78°C (Class BS).
The Opal NFXI-TDIFF incorporates the same thermistor and microprocessor technology, providing an alarm when the rate of temperature increase exceeds 10°C per minute (typical) or when the temperature reaches 58°C (Response Class A1R). Using Notifier’s Opal protocol, the device can be software-configured as a fixed 58°C sensor, a fixed 78°C sensor, or a 58°C sensor with rate-of-rise detection. To maintain backwards compatibility and existing approvals, all three configurations remain available as separate part numbers.
All three heat detectors feature sensing elements that are fully controllable via the Opal protocol, allowing the fire panel to adjust sensitivity thresholds as required. This flexibility enables the devices to be tailored to changes in the protected environment. Each detector includes built-in short-circuit isolation and two integrated tri-colour LEDs, providing 360° visual indication of device status. The LEDs are programmable and support static or flashing red, amber, and green indications.
