The larger cover helps protect against both malicious and accidental false fire alarms. The Stopper II is a unique protective device that has helped reduce false fire alarms worldwide for more than 30 years, while still allowing authorised users to operate devices such as fire alarm break-glass call points normally.
It is particularly well suited to schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and other public buildings where there is a history of, or risk of, false fire alarms.
How It Works
The Stopper II features a clear, tamper-resistant, impact-resistant polycarbonate cover and frame that can be retrofitted over an existing break-glass call point.
When the cover is lifted to access the call point, the optional battery-powered integral sounder activates, producing a loud 95 dB or 105 dB alarm at 1 metre. This immediately draws attention to the area, helping to deter prank activation and increasing the likelihood of identifying the person responsible.
