About
The Paxton10 Door Controller is a core component of the Paxton10 access control system, managing a single door while providing a port to connect up to three Paxton10 Wireless Connectors for added functionality. A complete Paxton10 system can support up to 1,000 door controllers.
As a networked TCP/IP device, the Door Controller integrates seamlessly into existing network infrastructure. It features four inputs—tamper, 230V fail, door contact, and RTE—and supports intruder alarm integration via the Paxton10 Alarm Connector (010-203).
Power options include Power over Ethernet (PoE) and PCB-only configurations, available with or without a plastic enclosure.
Installation
The wiring label on the Door Controller provides color-coded connections for readers, power supply, locks, and other peripherals. The 12V lock output can control doors, barriers, or gates, while diagnostic LEDs indicate the status of the controller, inputs, and outputs. Controllers connect directly to the network via TCP/IP and are automatically detected in the Paxton10 software under the Devices menu.
Operation
Any changes made in the Paxton10 software are immediately communicated to the Door Controller. When a user presents their token to the reader, the controller validates the credentials and grants or denies access accordingly.
